Policy and Research

For many years Evans Planning has acted at the forefront of the telecommunications industry, representing the Australian telecommunications industry’s interests. Between 2007 and 2011 we managed the Mobile Carriers Forum (MCF) an Industry Association which represents Australia’s three major mobile network operators: Telstra, Optus and Vodafone Hutchison Australia. This representation extended to negotiations with national, state and local governments and regulators, where Evans Planning was entrusted to represent the industry.

Evans Planning has more recently been engaged by the GSM Association to undertake research into Planning Based Exclusion Zones due for release midway through 2012. The GSMA represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide.

More broadly, Evans Planning has a research capability in the fields of urban planning and policy, community engagement, local government and telecommunications infrastructure. For organisations, we can facilitate workshops with key stakeholders to kick-off a strategic policy review and provide support through to inception.

Our clients in this space have included: the Mobile Carriers Forum, the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association and the GSM Association.
